Many of us have spent years voting in every election
…….. and then waiting for things to get better. We have used voting as the culmination of our engagement, rather than as the beginning.
Went because we believed in our constitutional rightness and fair-ness of decent people
The 26th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution’s lowered the voting age to 18 in July 1971! So.. excitedly I cast my ballot in the November 1972 presidential election!
I have voted in 14 presidential elections from 1972 through 2024. There have been NINE candidates over this 52 year period. One Black President (twice elected) and One Black Vice President (Female)
